BK Gururaja Rao and I were classmates during our study for BE in Mech. ENGG at the University College of Engineering, Bangalore under the University of Mysore between 1954 and 1958. We were quite close friends. He used to stay in Madhva Sangha hostel in Chamarajapet and I was staying (even now I do) in Basavanagudi. I used to meet him in his hostel quite often. While in Collge we had joined the National Cadet Corps: he was very smart and had been promoted as a Sergeant. He was a great friend - gentle and always helpful (I think he passed BE in 1958 and not as mentioned in the (Obit) So many happy memories fill my mind when I recollect. The last time I met him was a few tears back, when I picked him up from his sister's place in Padmanabha Nagar toʻ attend some function

Please accept my deepest sympathies on the loss of Gururaja. I hope that the amazing journey all of you had together and the memories that all of you hold close to your heart will bring each of you solace during this difficult time. I fondly remember the openness of the Rao home on Groome Avenue in Regina and how welcoming it was for Krishna's friends. Gururaja always showed interest in what and more importantly how we were doing. Please know that you have my support and sympathy.

My parents (Vijayendra Rao & Prabha) an I stayed with Dr.Gururaja Rao and Usha (Srikant was visiting) in Ottawa. It was early Spring and I remember the cherry blossoms and tour of Parliament building. They were wonderful hosts and made our trip memorable. My deepest condolences to the family. Shrikanth and Viji.
