Ione Timlin

Obituary of Ione Julia Timlin

Our amazing Mom lived a life filled with love, laughter and joy. We are missing her very much as we announce the death of Ione, Mom, Granny - wife of 59 years to her beloved Bill (deceased), mother to Karen (Jeff), Patty (Chris) and Ross (Jennifer); grandmother to Lesley, Andrew (Jackie), Ford, Breanna, Shawn and great-grandmother to Harper. Ione was also a loving sister, sister-in-law and aunt to many nieces and nephews. Ione passed peacefully January 18, 2026 following a brief illness.

Ione, sister Evie and parents Stefanos and Christine Zannetos came to Canada from Greece 80 years ago and made a happy life in Ottawa.

Ione was creative and artistic - her talent showcased in the gardens she grew and in the beautiful clothing she knit and sewed. Ione loved games - especially card games at the cottage with her kids and grandkids. She often won, earning the nickname ‘shark.’

Ione was a life-long volunteer, fundraiser and donor to charities where she felt a personal connection. She was a great friend to many - from Ottawa to Clearwater Florida and never forgot a birthday or anniversary.

Ione’s greatest source of pride was her family. She loved with her whole heart and we loved her with all of ours.

We invite you to celebrate Ione’s life with us. Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. until the time of the Funeral at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 27, 2026 in the Pinecrest Remembrance Chapel, 2500 Baseline Road. A reception to follow.
