Obituary of Jessie Farmer

Jessie (Ghislaine Hotte) Farmer passed away peacefully on March 28, 2026, in her home in Ottawa, Ontario, in the arms of her daughter Debbie.

Jessie was born on July 13, 1935, in Ripon, Quebec, Canada, to Josaphat and Rosanna Hotte.     She packed up and moved to California in 1962 with her husband and first child (Debbie)  and later had Mark and Michelle. She desired to complete her education and attended Clovis Adult High School and graduated in 1976. She went on to serve as a teacher's aide for special education students with the Clovis Unified School District and retired in 1993.  After starting her career, and after the death of her son, she adopted his two boys, Steve and Chris and raised them to be fine young men.  After 40 years in California, they packed up again and moved to Arizona where her husband later passed away in 2008.  She then started the Mother and Daughters annual trips to see the world which was her dream.  After 20 years living in Arizona, she once again packed everything up and moved back to Canada, her home land finding accommodations two blocks away from Debbie.  She was able to reunite with her nieces and nephews that she grew up with and was very close to and was able to walk the grounds of the house she was born in.  Though she had some complicated health problems, she never complained about it and was classy, elegant and always cheerful, had a smile on her face and ready to go anywhere. Those who met and knew her loved her immediately.  She was mom to so many. Her laugh was contagious and she was sweet but sassy right up to the end.

Jessie is survived by her daughters Debbie Lane (Mark) and Michelle Matson (Jay), her grandchildren Steve, Chris, Marquis, Scoey, Tannor, and Kasey, and her great-grandchildren Braedyn, Makenzie, Kyan, Marc, Dylan, and Lily. She was the youngest of her siblings and the last to survive. She was predeceased by her son, Mark Farmer, and her husband, Kenneth Farmer.

Jessie found immense joy in her grandchildren, her many crafting hobbies, and traveling with her daughters.
