Dear Peggy and Family, I met Tom several times when he would come into Pinecrest to wait for you while you finished your shift at Cole's. He was sweet and friendly with a smile on his face. The last time I saw Tom was when he was picking you up in your Miata convertible and of course, I had to make a fuss about the car as I love convertibles. I made him smile and I am very glad I have that special memory of him. Again, I am so sorry for your loss.

I first met Tom at Transport Canada countless years ago as we worked on related files. I recall the first time we met as being particularly frustrating, but the reason escapes me. Although he has been retired for a good while, to this day we still refer to Tom's approaches and his particular way to rationalize why we should do things in such a way, the right way. He was hard to argue against because he was usually quite right, but it was fun, especially when things digressed sometimes quickly. I still remember his humour. I still chuckle when I recall the occasion that he fielded a phone call related to his work, and after a while the person shared that they worked as a clown. The two chatted and got along quite well between laughs. At the end of the day he cared about the consequences of his efforts in a manner that shaped my own approach to issues during my own career. Like a previous message on this wall said.... The world needs more Toms.

Dear Peg, Graham, Chris and families
II am so sorry for your loss. Tom was my first boss at Transport Canada. He was a great mentor. In retirement, he would stop to chat and have a few laughs if I was gardening in the front lawn. I will cherish these memories. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.
Sincerely, Lynn Warner
