Obituary of Michael Alexander Ernest Mulligan
Michael "Ernie" Alexander Ernest Mulligan
June 19, 1923 - May 2, 2025
In his 102nd year, after a very long, happy and extraordinarily healthy life, Ernie Mulligan has left his children Michael (& Diane Rozon), Richard (& Connie Ford) and Janet-Lynne, his grandchildren Dawson (& Lauren Reid), Nolan (& Jena Armishaw) and Samantha and his great-grandchildren Lincoln, Greyson, Emerson & Naiomi. He is predeceased by his cherished wife Gertrude (Trudy) Myers, together over 50 yrs., his brother Gerald (Margaret) and sisters, Margaret Beauregard (Jean) & Barbara Holly (Joe), as well as most of his contemporaries.
He will be dearly missed by his family, many nieces & nephews and long-time friends who will lovingly remember him as a strong-willed, fiercely independent, ever-curious, resilient, active man who thoroughly enjoyed life both at his winter home in Florida and at his beloved cottage on Lac Bernard, QC, where family celebrations were his favourite events.
The family is grateful for the care and support of his physician Dr. Michael Malek, Veteran’s Affairs, Bayshore Nursing and GEM Healthcare, in helping us to honour his most fervent desire to remain in-home these last few months, as well as May Court Hospice in his final days.
We will celebrate his long life with family and friends on Thursday, June 19th, 2025 from 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. at Cole Funeral Services & Pinecrest Remembrance, 2500 Baseline Road, Ottawa.
Words of remembrance will take place at 2:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, please consider planting a tree in his honour or donating to Hospice Care Ottawa
