Obituary of Paola Macri  (née Cianci)

Born April 5, 1930, she peacefully passed away on Friday, March 16, 2018, at the age of 87. Beloved wife of Vincenzo. Loving mother of Rosa, Giovanni (Marie-Chantale) and Tony (Carol-Ann). Proud Nonna of Olivia, Noah and Amanda. Dear sister of Antonino (Italy) and Pasquale. Predeceased by her sister Immacolata (Italy) and brother Domenico (Italy). She will also be dearly missed by many nieces and nephews in Canada and Italy.

Born in Fiumara, Italy, Paola married and immigrated to Canada in 1957. A strong woman who endured many challenges in her life, especially in her later years, she was tirelessly devoted to her family, enjoyed cooking traditional Italian meals and always took great pleasure in socializing with family, friends and acquaintances.

The family wishes to thank the staff of the New Orchard Lodge and Villa Marconi for the compassionate care they provided.

Family will receive friends at the Pinecrest Visitation Centre, 2500 Baseline Road, Ottawa on Wednesday, March 21st from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 22nd at 11 a.m. in the Pinecrest Chapel. Interment and reception to follow. For those who wish, memorial donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada.
