Obituary of Paul Edward Ralph Warren

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Paul at the age of 55 on August 10th, 2020. Predeceased by his mother Doreen (Bosanquet) Warren, sister Dianne Payne (Michael Payne) and brother Bruce Warren. Survived by his proud father George Warren (Sally Benn-Warren) and siblings Janet Warren (Cavan Kelly), David Warren (David Andrew), Carol Sowa (Glenn Sowa), Ken Warren, and Linda Warren (Shane Martin). Loving and devoted uncle to Alysse, Kaitlyn, Morgan, Emily, Ryan and Alexandra. Paul’s love for his family was profound. He ensured we often were together, whether it was hosting his own annual ‘Deck Paul’s Halls’ festivities, or chauffeuring family members to and from out-of-town get-togethers. He became the family’s unofficial historian, painstakingly cataloguing the library of family photographs and researching our family tree. His love of photography began early as a hobby and eventually shaped his career path, but it was also his way of chronicling memories and ensuring they were shared with both family and friends. Paul will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by his long-time friends of over 40 years Brendan Ziolo, Bruce Patterson, James Whelan, Mike Smith and Mike Wotton. Paul treasured their enduring bond and always ensured their traditions continued, whether it was hosting a ‘pre-game’ before a night out, organizing their annual Thanksgiving football game & Christmas street hockey game or just getting together to celebrate any of life’s milestones. Paul also treasured his deep friendship with Mary Granger and Erin Browning (and was honoured to be considered ‘funcle’ to Callie and Caleb). The family would like to extend its sincere appreciation for the kindness and care by the physicians and the nurses of the Ottawa General Hospital, and the care he received at Ruddy-Shenkman Hospice (Kanata). Per Paul’s wishes, there will be no formal service or interment. Condolences and tributes can be posted online to Paul’s memorial guestbook on the Pinecrest Remembrance Services website. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada.
