Obituary of Raija Larisa Krupp

It is with sorrowful hearts that we announce our beautiful Lara left us unexpectedly and suddenly on a sunny fall morning in her 47th year. She leaves to mourn her much loved children Annaliisa, Alessia, Daniel, Kaija, Thomas, Illiana, Aksana and Deachlan. Cherished daughter and firstborn of Masha Krupp and the late Karl Pouta Jr. Big sister to D'Arcy and Jessy. Special cousin to Elaine, Michael (Mucky), Holly, Tracey, Jason, and numerous other cousins. Loved niece of Auntie Aila, Auntie Vi, Auntie Leesa, Auntie Anya, Auntie Laura, Uncle Basil, Uncle Sasha, Uncle Ron, Uncle Andy, and Uncle Roy. Adored granddaughter of the late John and Olga Krupp and the late Lillian and Karl Pouta.

Lara was born in Edmonton, Alberta and spent her early years there with her large extended family and friends. A precocious, fastidious child, she moved back to Ontario at age 7 with her mother and took up residence in Ottawa. She touched many lives with her warmth and laughter and her impassioned love of life. Lara dabbled in social work, criminology, and hairdressing before finally settling on being a personal support worker to the elderly, a vocation that filled her with a sense of purpose and touched the lives of those she cared for. Gone far too soon, never to be forgotten, she leaves a gossamer, delicate imprint on the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
The children and family would like to extend a special thanks to Brian and the Card family for welcoming Lara and her children into their fold with arms wide open, to her numerous friends and adopted aunts and uncles (Beverlee, Jagoda, Patty, Marc, Erinne-Colleen and Gen), to all the neighbours and clients at Willow Creek who ensured we were all fed and looked after as we wept and mourned our sudden, stunning loss. A special thanks also to Dr. Joy Weisbloom for her exemplary and steadfast care of Lara for more than 30 years. In lieu of flowers, Lara's children request that donations be sent in their mother's memory to Amethyst Women's Addiction Centre in Ottawa or to Lanark County Interval House in Carleton Place.
