Ernie was a valued friend during the time our families owned cottages at Norway Bay. His warmth, kindness, and enthusiasm made any social event more enjoyable. He was known as “the machine” on the golf course because of his steady game. He will be remembered as a dear friend with whom I have shared many happy memories.
I have made a donation to the Ottawa River Keeper in Ernie’s memory.

Uncle Ernie was a favourite of the Blickstead family. Rick and Martha along with sons Michael and John loved to hear golf stories and Norway Bay history. Ernie and Agnes raised incredibly talented and wonderful daughters who became our Cottage buddies. Ernie had a wicked sense of humour especially on the golf course and I along with my Father,Dick Blickstead loved to play the Norway Bay Golf Course with him. Ernie always had a smile, a twinkle in his eye and was always ready to welcome us as we arrived for the family vacation. He was a very special man and we will miss him. RIP, Mr. Norway Bay
With love and affection, Rick, Martha, Michael, and John

Dianne, I am so very sorry to hear that your Dad passed away last week; it must be a comfort to know that he had such a long, full and love-filled life with your Mom and you and your sisters. I remember how close you all were. My deepest condolences to you and your family at this difficult time. I still have an 'Ernie's Electric' beer bottle opener that he gave out to customers and friends waaaay back in the day!

Ernie was a favourite Norway Bay neighbour. Always there with a friendly wave, an offer of a beer, and wonderful, animated front yard visits. My condolences.

Aunt Agnes, Lorraine, Suzanne, Janet, Dianne and all the grandchildren. Ruth and I are so saddened by the passing of Uncle Ernie. Please know that we are thinking of you and accept out sincere condolences during this period. We will always remember his wonderful smile and the way he greeting everyone with deep feelings of welcome. He was a true Nova Scotian. I will forever cherish the memory of his last trip to Nova Scotia and we drove down to Yarmouth and picked up dad and went to Wedgeport. We visited the old homestead. He so enjoyed the trip. Blessing to all. Thank you for your Service Uncle Ernie. We will remember them.
