Obituary of Richard Schroeter

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Richard on the morning of Sunday, March 27, 2022. He was born in Ottawa on July 4, 1947 to Harry and Hilda Schroeter. Richard leaves behind his beloved wife of 50 years, Janice Schroeter (Matthews). Cherished Father of Sherri Mackie (Alex) and Eric Schroeter (Mélina). Proud and dedicated Grandfather to Makenna, Owen, Grace and Maéva. Also survived by his siblings Sharon Ferguson (Gerry), Susan Schroeter, Jeff Schroeter (Eda) and many nieces and nephews.  Richard “Ricky” was well known for his love of classic cars, Halloween, his resemblance to Jack Nicholson and telling great stories. His kind heart and eagerness to help others will be dearly missed by his family and friends. 

A Celebration of Richard's Life was held at Cole Funeral Services & Pinecrest Remembrance, 2500 Baseline Road, Ottawa, on Friday, April 1, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
