My sister Brenda was a nursing graduate of the Ottawa Grace Hospital in the 70s. She would later go on to work at St Vincent’s Hospital which she thoroughly enjoyed. Brenda was always the happiest when nursing. After leaving St Vincent’s Brenda worked for the Red Cross Mobile Blood Unit and many years later at a residence with Alzheimer patients. Brenda loved the outdoors, Every year she would diligently work on her large vegetable garden producing some of the best pickled beets among other preserves. She loved country music, always perfecting her mandolin and banjo playing. I will always remember Brenda singing a Joni Mitchell song “Both Sides Now” at a childhood concert. Brenda there have been many laughs, and tears shed as children, teens, and adults. Sisters are bonded by heart and we will always love you and hold you close. Go Rest High on that Mountain. xxoo
