Obituary of Aubrey Lucille Faye Bissell

Aubrey Lucille Faye Bissell, lovingly known as Aubbie and Aubs, passed away at the Carleton Place Hospital on July 13, 2023 at the age of five. She was born on May 13, 2018 in Almonte, Ontario to Derrick and Carly Bissell. 

Aubrey was a bright and beautiful girl who loved preschool, arts and crafts, and laughing. She adored her CHEO preschool teachers Kelsey and Lindsay and her therapists Laura, Vero, Charlotte and her bestie Courtney. Her best friend was her cousin Paige. 

Although Aubrey was affected with SLC13A5 Epilepsy, she learned so much in her short life and amazed everyone with her skills and abilities. She was able to communicate with those she loved using an eye gaze device and a switch button. She was proud of her achievements and always eager to learn more.

Aubrey had a smile that could warm you from the inside out and eyes that could brighten any room. She loved everyone and showed it by reaching out to hold hands. Her laugh was infectious and could make all your troubles go away. She was a joy and a blessing to everyone who knew her.

Aubrey is survived by her parents Derrick and Carly Bissell. She will be missed by her loving grandparents John and Wanda Bissell as well as Greg and Marilyn Lambert, her Aunts Kierstyn and Alysia (Brandon), her cousins Paige, Abbigail, Jacob, Colin and her caregiver Jocelyn. She will be forever missed by all who loved her.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 18, 2023 from 2:00 p.m.  until 4:00 p.m. at Highland Park Visitation Centre, 2037 McGee Side Road, Carp. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Tess Research Foundation or Easter Seals Ontario in Aubrey's name.
