Obituary of Robert Ratz

On August 23, 2023, Bob passed away peacefully at the age of 89 following a decline in his health.  He was pre-deceased by his wife, the love of his life, Peggy (2011).  Bob was a loving and proud father of his daughters, Wendy  (Arthur) and Laurie (Jim Hiel). and a loving ‘Gramps / Bob' to Sarah (Sunny), Ryan Moore (Erin Moore), Andrew Hiel, and Allison (Richard Langendock).  Bob was also a very proud 'Gramps / Grampa Bob’ to his great grand-children Soren, Mackenzie, Olivia, Zuri, Quinn, and Emma. 

Bob was born in Toronto in 1933 to Herbert and Delo Ratz.  He was a University of Toronto Engineering graduate, employed for many years with Atomic Energy of Canada in Ottawa.  Bob and Peggy enjoyed many trips around the world, established many life-long friendships, and shared joyous times on canoe expeditions and at their cottage on Buckshot Lake.  A private memorial will be held and Bob will be laid to rest next to Peggy at Pinecrest Cemetery.
