Obituary of Shirley Lucinda Gilchrist

Peacefully with her family by her side on Sunday, August 27, 2023, at the age of 92. Beloved and cherished wife of Joseph for 66 years.  Loving mother of Kimberley (John) and Jeff.  Proud grandmother to Brandon and much-loved great grandmother to Finnley and Summer. Dear sister of Hugh and predeceased by Irene, Iris, Clayton, Lois, and Lorne.  Daughter of the late Edna and Fleming Sparks. She will be missed by her many nieces and nephews. Shirley enjoyed many Summers spent at the family cottage on Crosby Lake and their Winters down in Florida for over thirty years.

A Celebration of Shirley’s Life will take place at Cole Funeral Services & Pinecrest Remembrance on Friday, September 1, 2023, from 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. Words of Remembrance will take place at 2:00 p.m. An inurnment will follow at Pinecrest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Shirley can be made to the University of Ottawa Heart Institute Foundation.
