Obituary of Diana King
It is with heavy hearts, that we announce Diana is now resting in Eternal peace after an astounding battle with Cancer. Her final wish of being able to die at home, where she lived with her son, daughter-in-law and belove grandchildren, was achieved. Diana, in her 89th year, was the beloved wife of THE LATE Donald King for 59 years. **Loving mother of Jeff (Rebecca) of Stittsville, Suzanna King Belmont. Special Grandma to Jessica and David King, of whom she was so very proud. Also survived by her dear niece Georgia (Tom) Tielemans of Dorchester ON, Nephew Michael (Reina) Lankin and family of London ON. She had a special place in her heart for her Great nephews Sean and Cullen Tielemans of Dorchester ON.
Diana was the dear daughter of THE LATE Milton and Gladys Lankin from London ON) **Dear sister of THE LATE Karl (Anita) Lankin, Niles Town, ON and sister-in-law to Tom (Lisa), Jerry (Wayne), Dorothy (Patrick), Ken all of BC, and Bob (Barb) of Winnipeg, MB.
Diana accomplished many great things in her lifetime, with her proudest achievements of being a past Worthy Matron in of the Order of the Eastern Star District 5, Bethlehem Chapter #136, and the Supreme Queen in Daughters of the Nile, Omar Temple No,111 London ON. She loved to travel with her “sisters” and visiting Las Vegas, Nevada was one of her favorites, even though she did not gamble. She worked a few different jobs such as a Travel Agent, Secretary, and her final position was working with her husband on their owned Weston’s Bread Route.
Once they were both retired, they moved to Frankford ON, to be close to her son and his family, as he was stationed at the Air Base in Trenton ON. She was thrilled to be able to watch and be part of her grandchildren growing up. Her final move was to Stittsville ON with her son and family, where she enjoyed making new friends at the Friendship Club and playing darts at the Stittsville Legion. She was strong in her faith, and enjoyed being welcomed into the congregation at St. Thomas Anglican Church. She said she never laughed so much in church, thanks to Rev. Lee.
A very special thank you to Dr. Daniel Chapman, who is such a compassionate doctor, for the wonderful care provided. A big thank you to Bayshore Home Health Team, especially Nurse Emily and PSW Iryna who were her regular caregivers over the past year and half. We would not have been able to fulfil her wish to remain home without your support as well as the rest of the team members.
Donations to St. Thomas Anglican Church or the Canadian Cancer Society gratefully accepted.
