Obituary of Michael Gordon Moir

Michael Gordon Moir of Ottawa Ontario passed away on November 7, 2023 while in the presence of loved ones at age 56 years. Michael was born to Ruth and Gordon Moir on Christmas day of 1966 in Toronto.

Loving father to Joshua Moir and Alexandra Macvarish, he enjoyed nothing more than spending time with and looking after his family. Michael is also survived by his mother Ruth, sisters Cindy Day and Debbie Moir McCabe. Michael was predeceased by his father Gordon Moir.

When not spending time and caring for the needs and wants of loved ones, Michael was always looking to add to his many collections. Collections which included, but were most certainly not limited to, hockey memorabilia, old coins and paper bills, antique cameras, and various world war artifacts. He also found comfort and peace in time spent alone taking late night walks, whether simply around his own neighbourhood or along the Ottawa river.

As per Michaels wishes, the family will not be hosting a traditional funeral service.  In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Ottawa Humane Society to commemorate his love for all animals.
