Obituary of Boyce Hutcheon
Boyce Hutcheon passed away Nov. 8, 2023, from complications of Parkinsons. Beloved husband and best friend of Beth for over 61 years. Proud father of Trevor (Audrey) Calgary, AB and Troy (Sabrina) of Houston, TX. Caring grandfather to Kate, Emily and Laura (Joe) of Calgary and Dylan, Lillian and Colton of Houston and great grandfather to Grayson.
Predeceased by his parents and his brother Keith. He will be fondly remembered by his sister Sally (Bob) of Port Elgin, ON and nieces and nephews.
Boyce was born in Brockville, ON where he received his education and attended Ryerson University (now Toronto Metropolitan University). He was employed as a chemist for several years in the Federal government, environmental consulting firms and then with the City of Ottawa as Manager of Water Quality Control. He was very active with the Ontario Water Works Association receiving the Norman J. Howard Award, culminating with being president of the OWWA in 1995.
He enjoyed the family cottage at Charleston Lake for 50 years. His retirement time was spent golfing, curling, playing bridge, being an active member of the Nepean-Kanata Rotary Club and travelling with Beth whenever possible.
The family would like to thank Dr. Daniel Chapman and staff of Hazeldean Gardens Retirement Home & Forest Hill for helping keep Boyce comfortable for the past 4 years.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, 2 Mulkins St. Stittsville, ON from 12 pm Monday November 20, 2023, followed by a funeral service. A reception will take place downstairs.
