Obituary of Joycelyn Baptiste

Joyce passed away peacefully in hospice at St. Vincent Hospital on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at the age of 83.  Beloved wife of 55 years to Orville Baptiste. 

Predeceased by brother Calvert Archer.  Dedicated mother to Jo Ann Hennigar (Dale), Junior Baptiste (Sonya), Mark Baptiste (Wendy) and Cheri-Lyn Opara (Onyema).  Beloved grandmother to Lushaun Baptiste (Rachel), Colin Baptiste, Malcolm Baptiste, Sheldon Baptiste (Meg), Marissa Baptiste (Mitch), Danyka Baptiste, Ayana Eason, Adannaya Opara and Norah-Lyn Opara.  Devoted great-grandmother of Zayden Baptiste. 

Fondly remembered by friends Valerie Jardine & Mary Scott and sadly missed by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family & friends from her birthplace, Barbados.  She will be sadly missed by neighbours from Morrison Court and warmly remembered by her church family at Ottawa Seventh-Day Adventist church. She always fondly recalled her years of service at St. Vincent Hospital as a nurse. 

There will be a funeral service at the Ottawa Seventh-Day Adventist church, 2200 Benjamin Avenue, on Sunday, March 24th at 2:00 pm followed by a reception at the church.
