Obituary of Jacques Dallaire

Jacques Dallaire passed away peacefully at the Stillwater Creek Retirement Residence on March 17, 2024, at the age of 90.

Jacques will be missed greatly by his wife Marthe, his three daughters Gisèle (Pierre), Louise (Don) and Suzanne (Mark), his five grandchildren Jonathan (Sara), Méliza (Marcel), Terry, Jamie (Dasha) and Michaela (Andrew), and his six great-grandchildren Hailey, Ava, Edy, Fae, Oliver, and Mirabel. He is also survived by his sister Jacqueline (Arnold).

Jacques will be fondly remembered as a charming and well travelled person who loved to talk to people. He enjoyed belonging to various clubs and organizations such as the Optimists, Toastmasters, MPI, the Kiwanis Club of which he was a member for 55 years, the West End Duffers golf.  He was known by some people as a connoisseur of cars.

Jacques’s career evolved from Radio and Television announcer to sales with Canadian Pacific Air Lines (also known as CP Air) for 30 years and Westin Hotels and Resorts for 10 years.

The family expresses gratitude to the staff of Stillwater Creek Retirement Home for their excellent care of Jacques during his last year.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. in the Pinecrest Remembrance Chapel, 2500 Baseline Road, Ottawa.  A reception will be held after the service. Donations may be made to the Heart and Stoke Foundation.
