Obituary of Rollande McKinnon

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Rollande Yvonne McKinnon (nee Crate) on October 6, 2024 in Ottawa after a brief illness.

She leaves behind her beloved husband Donald McKinnon, and his extended family, her son Jeffrey Eckford, and her cherished grandchildren, Abbie Eckford, Bronwen Holder, Warren Holder, and Arwen Holder. She also leaves behind her beloved nieces and nephews.

Rollande was an avid sports fan and tennis player.  She had a close group of long-time friends through her Bridge, Gourmet and Book clubs. A patron of the theatre, she loved music and dancing, travelling. She curated a wardrobe that reflected her love for clothes and elegant style. She was known among her friends as a natural helper, compassionate, generous and caring.

The family would like to thank the palliative nurses and doctors in 3A at the Queensway Carlton Hospital.

A service will be held in celebration of her life, followed by a reception at the Pinecrest Remembrance Chapel, 2500 Baseline Road at 11:00 a.m.  on Thursday, October 17, 2024.
